Cosmetology in Ayurveda and Development of Cosmeceutics

Cosmetics are a mixture of cosmetics and medicinal cosmetics. Cosmetic products with halogenic ingredients that must contain medical or medicinal ingredients. Contextuals are used to improve and nourish the skin and are known to treat a variety of dermatological conditions. Cosmetics contain ingredients that affect the biological function of the skin. Cosmetics are meant to improve the appearance of the skin by distributing essential nutrients. Cosmetics generally claim to reduce wrinkles and improve skin color and radients. Cosmeceuticals are not reviewed by the food and drug administration (FDA) and the term cosmeceutical is not recognized by the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act. Although both cosmetics are being tested for their safety and testing to determine if the beneficial ingredients are really in line with the manufacturers claims, it is not mandatory.
In ayurveda the concept of beauty has an age old origin. According to ayurveda healthy skin is result of overall health condition of individuals. Ayurveda is a great demand in the field of aesthetics due to its unique concepts of beauty and effective, chip and long lasting beauty therapy without any side effects. The “cosmeceuticals” label applies only to products applied topically such as; creams, lotions and ointments. Cosmetics label do not have any division between active ingredients and other ingredients that are essential, they are all listed together.
