Pichia pastoris being methylotrophic yeast isolated during the 1960s is massively utilized by biotech enterprises for using methanol as a source of carbon and energy. In addition, an exceptional expression model for the synthesis of numerous proteins and vaccines. For more than 30 years, Pichia pastoris has been utilized to produce heterologous proteins, for example, insulin, antibodies etc.
