The linearity of the metformin is 10-50 μg/ml with y = 0.0011x - 0.0006 as the regression equation r2 value was 0.9977. Recovery values for Metformin present in Bougainvillea California Gold flowers extract powder is found to 98.45% - 99.16%. The RSD % of intraday precision and intraday precision is 16.67 % and 61.53% respectively. LOQ and LOD values are 0.26 μg/ml and 0.0.08μg/mL respectively. The robustness %RSD values method was 64.38 – 64.66. Rf value of the extract was found to be 0.586 with 60:40 (methanol and water) in TLC. IR interpretation of both bougainvillea California gold flowers extract and Meformin were found to be similar.&nbsp; So the method was simple, precise, exact and economical. This method could be applicable for quantitative determination of the metformin in Bougainvillea California gold flowers extract.</p> 2022-08-02T00:00:00+0530 Copyright (c) 2022 Research and Advances in Pharmacy and Life Sciences http://matjournals.co.in/index.php/RAPLS/article/view/1079 A Recent Review on Novel Derivatives of Hydroxychloroquine 2022-09-28T07:12:39+0530 Aditi aditikoundal1722@gmail.com Abhishek Soni aditikoundal1722@gmail.com Pooja Devi aditikoundal1722@gmail.com <p>Malaria is an acute febrile disease that is caused due to the parasite infection, transmitted in humans by female anopheles mosquito bite. Malaria is one of the leading reasons of mortality worldwide, but early detection and quick acting treatment can fend off these unpleasant results. In Africa and some Asian countries, malaria is the most common disease, while in other developed countries it occurs due to import from endemic countries. As the 2nd century BC Chinese people used sweet sage-wort plant to cure malarial fever. Quinine began to be used as an anti-malarial drug much later. A worldwide fight in oppose to malaria began in 1955. Croatia became malaria free in 1964 and declared this year as malaria eradication year. The WHO (world health organization) runs malaria control programs on global level with a focus on primary health care, early detection, quick treatment and prevention. Now these days the load of malaria is lowered down than it was 10 years ago. Although the number of patients suffering from malaria have been increased in the world. The progress has fallen off but the targets of world health organizations are moving forward.</p> 2022-09-28T00:00:00+0530 Copyright (c) 2022 Research and Advances in Pharmacy and Life Sciences http://matjournals.co.in/index.php/RAPLS/article/view/1130 Curcuma amada (Mango Ginger) – A Promising Indian Spice with Multiple Pharmacological Perspectives 2022-10-13T06:29:19+0530 Anupama Yadav yadavanupama4@gmail.com <p>The rare spice mango ginger (<em>Curcuma amada</em> Roxb.) resembles ginger but tastes like raw mango. Mango ginger rhizomes are mostly used to make pickles and other food products. Mango ginger is valued in Ayurvedic and Unani medical systems as an alexteric, digestive aid, aphrodisiac, antipyretic, emollient, diuretic, laxative, and expectorant as well as a treatment for biliousness, itching, skin conditions, bronchitis, asthma, hiccups, and inflammation brought on by injuries. Mango ginger's biological effects include anti-bacterial, anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, cytotoxic, anti-platelet, hypotriglyceridemic, anti-allergic, analgesic, CNS depressive, and other biological effects (brine-shrimp lethal activity and bio pesticide). Starch, phenolic acids, volatile oils, curcuminoids, and terpenoids are some of the main chemical components. This review article highlights the main active ingredients found in <em>C. amada</em> as well as their biological functions, which may be significant from a pharmaceutical perspective.</p> 2022-10-13T00:00:00+0530 Copyright (c) 2022 Research and Advances in Pharmacy and Life Sciences http://matjournals.co.in/index.php/RAPLS/article/view/1250 Role of Lipids in Biological System 2022-11-17T09:06:10+0530 Twinkle Gautam info@ibri.org.in Rashi Rai info@ibri.org.in Abhinav Srivastava info@ibri.org.in <p>One of the main macromolecules found in the human body is lipids, along with proteins, nucleic acids, and carbs. Lipids, however, are not polymers because they are not made up of monomers, in contrast to the other macro biomolecules. Because hydrocarbon chains (-CH2-CH2-CH2-CH2-) predominate in their structures, they are hydrophobic by nature.</p> <p>Lipids participate in a range of signalling pathways; serve as structural components of cell membranes, and store energy, among other functions, in many crucial biological processes.</p> <p>Robert Boyle noticed a milky look in the animal blood that was collected after their feed in 1665. Later, in 1774, Henson discovered that the milky liquid contained fat. The period of intensive research on these compounds is from the 18th to the 19th century. The idea that fat is a necessary ingredient for both humans and animals first gained traction in 1827, along with carbohydrates and protein.</p> <p>The overall structure, characteristics, classification, and functions of lipids in various organisms are presented in this article.</p> 2022-11-17T00:00:00+0530 Copyright (c) 2022 Research and Advances in Pharmacy and Life Sciences
