Despite this, every year has witnessed a steady increase in the number of recorded cases of liver poisoning caused by the use of large doses of the drug. (Bertolini nephrotoxicity also occurs as a result of direct or indirect exposure to drugs or over-the-counter products, and is very common and causes many pathological effects in the kidney tissues. Nephrotoxicity is caused by Acute tubular injury (ATI) or Acute interstitial nephritis (AIN).
