Developing nations are viewing tourism from a broader perspective in terms of its full impact on their regions and are playing and increasingly larger role in tourism planning. Tourism in not only and economic activity of importance to nations development but also an important medium of cultural exchanges among nations of the world (e.g. indo-German cultural program, etc.). The profession as to do a lot to raise the standards, to get higher quality people and to ensure that the member are educated in tourism industry and specifically in hrm to develop competent professionals to whom line experience and personnel experience would have been imparted. HRD plays a major and vital role in development of the tourism sector. HRD should be taken as priority and adequate planning measures should be taken accordingly because efficient HR can increase satisfaction to customers and can create competitive edge.
