Research on the Knowledge and Attitude of Final Year B.Sc. Nursing Students in Selected Nursing Colleges towards the Nursing Profession

In today's society, nurses execute crucial responsibilities in educating patients and the general population about safeguarding against illness and harm, participating in rehabilitation, and delivering care and support. The purpose of the study was to assess the knowledge and attitude regarding nursing professionals among nurses. The non-experimental descriptive research design was adopted on 100 final-year nursing students, who were selected using a convenient sampling technique and Questionnaire on knowledge and attitudes connected to the study of the nursing profession. For data analysis descriptive and inferential statistics are used. According to the study, 91% of the participants had a positive attitude, 9% had a neutral attitude, 66% of the subjects had high knowledge, 31% had moderate knowledge, and 3% had inadequate information. There is a correlation between the level of knowledge and attitude r 0.240 and p 0.016. There is no association between the level of knowledge and any of the socio-demographic variables. A statistically significant association was found between the level of attitude and annual family income. Nursing students indicated good knowledge and favourable attitude regarding the nursing profession. Better understanding and a positive outlook on nursing would inspire nurses to promote the profession by serving as role models.
