Effectiveness of a Health Education on Knowledge and Attitude Regarding Prevention of PEM (Protein Energy Malnutrition)

Abstract

The health of children has historically been of vital importance of all societies because children are the basic resources of the future of mankind. Nutrition is the provision, to cells and organism of the materials necessary to support life. Nutritional problems are more serious in the developing country the incidence of PEM is 44% in the India. A quasi experimental approach, pre & post test with two group research designs was used. In that we assess the level of knowledge and attitude among mothers of pre-schooler child regarding prevention of PEM. The researcher used simple random sampling technique to select 50 mothers of pre-schooler children. After the pre test health education administered and post test was conducted after seven days. The collected data were analyzed with descriptive & inferential statistics.
