Abstract

Background: Renal calculi is the one of the most urologic disorders have beset human for centuries and is a public health problem that affects all levels of society, regardless of age gender, ethnicity or race The population of India suffering from renal calculi is 5-7 million and at least 1/1000 population needs hospitalization due to renal calculi and the pain of renal calculi is known as worse than that of labour pain. The population of India is majorly suffering from renal calculi is a strong reason for imparting a proper education to renal calculi patients regarding the importance of dietary modification to prevent reoccurrence and its complication this study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of structured teaching program on knowledge regarding importance of dietary modification among patients with renal calculi at selected hospital, Bangalore.
