Abstract

Foot deformities are defined as a heterogeneous group of congenital and acquired conditions concerning structural abnormalities or muscular imbalances that influence the function of the foot. According to clinical appearance, the deformities are classified. The common congenital foot deformity is the clubfoot. Manipulative treatment of congenital foot deformities, that requires manual repositioning and serial casting, should be initiated soon after birth. The outcome depends mainly on whether the deformity responds well to manual repositioning. If the deformities are not corrected with manual repositioning, it may require surgical correction.
