Abstract

Cardiovascular disease is the leading global cause of death, accounting for 17.3 million deaths per year, a number that is expected to grow more than 23.6 million by 2030. The objectives of the study are to assess the level of knowledge of nursing students regarding cardiac emergency drugs. Evaluative approach and the pre-experimental, one group pre-test post-test design adopted for the study. The sample of the study comprised of 50 student nurses studying in B.Sc. Nursing at Hi-Tech College of Nursing, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Convenient sampling was used to select the sample. The mean pre-test knowledge score was 12.72 and the post-test knowledge score is 29.94 with the calculated t value 5.77 shows statistically significant. The findings of the study showed the effectiveness of informational booklet on the knowledge regarding cardiac emergency drugs. It helped to improve the knowledge on the subject matter and to understand the learning needs of the student.
