Abstract

Acceptance sampling plans are practical tools for the quality assurance applications including product quality control. Acceptance sampling systems are advocated when small sample sizes are necessary or desirable in lieu of costlier testing procedures for product quality. The CSP-1 plan is the simple and most commonly used single level continuous sampling plan. The sampling procedures can be applied to defective units (individual or classes).Continuous sampling plans are applicable to situations where there is continuous flow of products and these products are submitted for inspection in the order of productions.
This paper provides a new procedure for continuous sampling plan 1 (CSP-I) with its probability of acceptance in the sample. Continuous sampling plans are beneficial when the formation of lots for sampling inspection is impracticable. During the sampling inspection, only a fraction ‘f’ of the units are selected at random and inspected. Tables and procedures are also provided for selection of the parameter for the plan. Numerical diagrams are also provided for the shop floor applications of these procedures.
