Abstract

In the deregulated electricity market many Individual Powers Produces (IPP)/ Distributed Energy Resources (DER) are compete to sell the power. Grid and power flow controlling is a challenging task. In deregulated scenario many market model, according to that the power flows control has to be done looking at the Available Transfer Capacity (ATC) in the lines. FACTS controller are well suits to control the active power by injecting/absorbing the reactive power form the lines. Congestion in the system can be avoided by determining the current state of the line status and controlling the generation and load demand. To determine the current state and transfer capacity of lines in the deregulated system determination of ATC required. The ATC of the lines are calculated by PTDF method which is the index factor of ATC. The simulation studies are performed using Power World Simulator.
