Abstract

In this paper, a single-phase single-stage H-bridge inverter based photovoltaic (PV) for grid
connected system. The single-stage conversion for tracking the maximum power point and
interfacing the photovoltaic array to the grid. To improve the efficiency and power quality of
the system, tuned parallel resonant network is used for reducing the harmonics at the inverter
DC side. By adopting PWM strategy, and a higher quality and lower THD of grid connected
current are obtained using Pulse width modulation. This PV system was added to diesel ship.
Green ship is consisted of PV generation system, stand alone and grid connected inverter.
The aim of the green ship is not only to reduce the fuel consumption but also to support the
power grid as a distributed generation in the near future.
