Control Configuration Selection for Non-square Multi Input Multi Output System

Abstract

The reported method of interaction analysis for square Multi Input Multi Output (MIMO)
system has been extended to non-square MIMO system. This paper describes the state of art
in integration of manipulated variable and controlled variable by selecting an appropriate
input-output pairing among the loops in non-square MIMO systems using interactive
responses. This paper provides a technique to assess the control loop interactions and rank
the loops for non-square MIMO systems rather squaring down accordingly. This procedure
is illustrated via simulation of non–square MIMO system with 3 inputs and 2 outputs.
