Abstract

Data can be collected from one or more distant facilities using SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), and high-level machine and process control instructions can only be sent to these distant facilities. Power system components like inverters are typically dispersed over broad geographic areas, sometimes in challenging environments, in the global energy business. An IoT-based SCADA system enables the execution of advanced coordination and control functions with reliability, flexibility, and cost-efficiency, all without necessitating direct access to the facility. The Master Terminal Unit (MTU) is employed for overseeing and managing remote solar PV systems through the use of Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled SCADA solutions implemented with microcontrollers. IoT platforms and servers play a role in data storage and the creation of software applications for remote monitoring.  After its development, this SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system possesses the ability to oversee and control a 260-watt solar photovoltaic panel with a 12-volt output. Users can conveniently access the gathered data through a PC connected to the cloud.
