Integration of Digital Advisory Services in Agriculture at National level with ATMA Extension System

Abstract

The farmers need timely, quality and locally relevant information from extension functionary during the crop season. The ratio of farmer and extension functionary is very high in almost every state in the country. The other side, the extension functionary has been involved in performing the activities of agricultural schemes of State Government and also Central Government and busy with implementing them in the field. The lack of time with the functionary also one of the critical factor in providing extension services to the farmers. The number villages to be covered by the extension functionary are also large in number in many states, which leads to confine the extension activities to few farmers. The invent of many digital services using ICTs platform helping certain extent to the officials to perform extension services to the farmers. This paper discuss about the integrating one of the digital advisory services called NICE (The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) system at national level with Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Extension System.
