Abstract

The use of digital devices has risen dramatically in recent years among people of all ages. CVS affects about half of the population, making substantial everyday use for both social and professional purposes the norm. Computer use, even for a few hours per day, causes a variety of health problems, resulting in lower productivity at work and a lower quality of life for computer workers. Computer Vision Syndrome is a syndrome that occurs when the eyes are fixed on a computer or other display device for an extended period of time. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of knowledge of computer vision syndrome among adolescents from various colleges in Gokak Taluk, to determine the relationship between computer vision syndrome and various demographic characteristics, and to disseminate a questionnaire. Hence structured knowledge questionnaire was utilized to gather data, which was then analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics that were acceptable for the active set of objectives. Based on the result, it can be concluded that most of the students (17/30) 56.70% have an average level of knowledge regarding computer vision syndrome which explains that distributing an information booklet to the students was effective to increase their knowledge regarding computer vision syndrome and there will be a significant relationship between CVS knowledge and selected demographic characteristics.
