Free Space Optical Communication: Its Applications and Challenges
Keywords:

Free space serves as a communication medium in the FSO system, and for optical signal transmission to be successful, the transceivers must be in the line of sight (LOS). Air, space, or vacuum are all examples of the medium. This technology can be utilized for communication in less time and with less expense. FSO has a lot of benefits, including high bandwidth and no spectrum license. The presence of foreign components including rain, fog, and haze, as well as physical obstructions, scattering, and air turbulence, are some of these factors. As a result, the transmission in FSO is reliant on the medium. In this study, many studies on weather conditions and methods used to lessen their impact are reviewed.
