Surface Electromyography Based Prosthetic Limbs: A Review

Abstract

In this paper, an outline of upper extremity adaptation and standard prosthetic solutions for amputees has been presented. Then, there is a short discussion of recent developments in the technical design of prosthetic limbs and new methods for command of these masterly instruments. Finally, a description and a sketch of the basic goals of this project identify the shortcomings of the current user interfaces about coordination control. This paper is intended to study techniques and methods related to the development of a myoelectric control interface that would facilitate the highly organized control of multiple joints of trans-radial prostheses.
