Abstract

Conveyor belts are used in sectors such as textile mills, paper mills, and steel factories to synchronise many motors and maintain steady loads.  This is accomplished by connecting each motor to its own PLC via a speed measuring mechanism, a variable frequency drive (VFD), and a SCADA system. The performance of prototype hardware is demonstrated in this study. The goal of this work is to use a programmable logic controller (PLC) and a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system to synchronise the speed of several motors in businesses (SCADA). On the SCADA screen, all information about each motor will be presented, including RPM, motor ON/OFF, and speed mismatch display and alert system.
