Abstract

The use of Random Vibration Analysis (RVA) is increasing day by day for the reliability & safety purposes of a component or structure. For the quick & effective solution of real-life engineering problems, RVA has shown its impact on designing the product (Component or structure) and has become an important tool in modern structural dynamics. In this paper, the design of the exhaust pipe is done by CATIA software and the model is imparted in ANSYS software for RVA to overlook the design of a considered model of exhaust pipe. This study provides a thorough investigation into the dynamic response of an exhaust pipe system subjected to random vibrations, employing ANSYS software. The automotive industry heavily relies on exhaust systems facing diverse operational conditions, including random vibrations induced by road irregularities, engine dynamics, and environmental factors. Understanding these systems' reactions to random vibrations is pivotal for designing robust and enduring exhaust components. Utilizing the Finite Element Method (FEM) via ANSYS, this research develops a comprehensive understanding of the exhaust pipe system design aspect, considering structural properties, material behaviours, and boundary conditions. This study significantly contributes to the enhancement of exhaust system design, ensuring their reliability, durability, and performance across varying operational environments within the automotive sector.
