Abstract

The Latin phrase "Adolescere," which means to reach adolescence, is where the word "adolescence" originates. Both physical and mental development occurs during adolescence. A person's personality is defined as the consistent thought, feeling, and behaviour patterns they display over time. These patterns significantly impact how we see ourselves, other people, and the world around us. They also help us anticipate how we will respond to stress, issues, and other people. Using Cattell's 16PF as a research tool, the current study, "Personality of Government and Private School Students," aims to identify the personality traits of adolescent students and compare government and private school students on 16 factors of personality characteristics. Using a random sampling technique, a sample of 40 respondents was chosen, of whom 20 were students at public schools, and 20 were from private institutions. The study's results showed that there was a significant difference in the factors B (concrete thinking vs. abstract thinking), I (tough-minded vs. tender-minded), L (trusting vs. suspicious), O (self-assured vs. apprehensive), Q1 (conservative vs. experimenting), and Q4 (conservative vs. experimenting).
