Abstract

The kidneys are two important organs in the body that perform many distinct functions. The kidneys, through delicate sensory mechanisms, balance, regulate blood pressure, water, sodium and potassium, bone minerals. In addition to the primary function of it is to get rid of metabolic wastes and excrete them with urine. This is done through its consumption is 22% of cardiac output, as 20% of the plasma is filtered, which results in 170 liters of glomerular filter per day. But this amount does not remain the same as 99% of it is reabsorbed during its flow along the nephron, so it produces about 1.5 liters of only. The filtration process occurs with the help of the special structure of the renal glomeruli, which is characterized by the presence of the glomerular filtration barrier.
