Abstract

Menopause is a physiological hormonal milestone occurs between the age of 47 and 54 due to natural depletion of ovarian follicle activity, resulting in everlasting cease of menstruation or deprivation of reproductive features. Women faced various challenges during midlife due to deceased hormonal production by ovaries which leads to various symptoms including vasomotor symptoms, cognitive symptoms, and fatigue, and sleep disturbances, genital-urinary symptoms like vaginal atrophy, dryness, and urinary tract infection. Symptoms vary women to women. Hence, better understanding about symptoms, the effects of hormonal therapy, non-hormonal, bio-identical hormonal therapy, and complimentary /alternative therapies might empower menopausal women to live health life.
