Abstract

This paper is focused on experimental analysis of concrete with two different SCMs i.e. Alccofine and Tungsten Carbide. The aim of this experiment is to find an optimum quantity of both the materials in order to produce High Performance Concrete (HPC). The experiment is performed on 14 different concrete specimen with different Alccofine 1203 and WC quantities. Followed by the estimation of three major mechanical properties which are Compressive Strength, Split tensile strength and Flexural Strength. The analysis is conducted in two stages. In Stage: I, aim am to find the proper quantity of Alccofine to be replaced with cement which will exhibit the optimized strengths. In this case it was found to be 7%. In the next stage i.e. Stage: II, for next three concrete specimens the quantity of Alccofine 1203 was kept constant (i.e. 7%) and the varying parameter became WC. The Tungsten Carbide was added in minute quantity i.e. 0.25, 0.33 and 0.66 %. All the readings and Observations are then tabulated and portrayed via graphs. From the experiment it is apparent that employment of SCMs gives positive results and helps remarkably in enhancing mechanical properties of Concrete hence can be used to develop high performance concrete.
