Seismic Analysis of Structure with Plan Irregular Configuration Using Base Isolation Techniques

Many methods and many techniques were invented to endure the earthquake ground vibrations since past five decades. The base isolation technique is one of the trending techniques to dissipate the energy of the structure. In my work an effort has been made by studying the different bearing of base isolation techniques with seismic analysis of the structure with plan irregularities and their responses has been observed and discussed. The plan irregular structure is considered to be in zone 5 with medium soil type and the analysis is carried out with fixed base, isolated base that is, Lead Rubber Bearing (LRB), High damping Rubber Bearing (HDRB) and Friction Pendulum Bearing (FPB) base the analysis is carried out in computer and structure software ETABS of v.19. Also, the storey responses like storey drift, storey displacement, storey shear and natural time period is studied in this work. the results are obtained for same, where, High Damping Rubber Bearing (HDRB) sustained the dynamic loading of earthquake and obtained best results after analysing in software. The structure responses are reduced by 26.04% in storey shear and 26.82% in storey drift.
