Improving Bitumin Road Properties by Involving Plastic Waste

As of March 31, 2015, India had a road network
of more than 5,472,144 kilometers (3,400,233
miles), the second largest road network in the
world. After the proper treatment it would lead
to increase the life of the roads as well as also
solve the various environmental problems in our
day to day life. It is already used as a crossover
for PVC or HDPE pipe mats, which are
produced by wiring PVC (polyvinyl chloride) or
HDPE (high density polyethylene) pipes to
plastic mats. The durability of streets washed
with shredded plastic waste is much higher than
that of streets paved with a normal mixture. The
use of innovative technologies has not only
strengthened road construction, but has also
extended the life of the road, contributed to the
improvement of the environment and also
created a source of income.
