Junction towers are required to change the conveyor direction or material movement direction in industries. Junction towers are designed for the various loads. The loads acting on the members of the junction tower are dead load, live load, wind load and load due to conveyor belt tension and equipment’s. Based on the load distribution, placement of equipment’s and direction of conveyor belt tension the critical column which is taking maximum load is noted. Then sectional properties of the critical section are obtained and same section is provided for the remaining columns. The load acting on the column including self-weight of column and bracing is given to the foundation engineer for designing the foundations.
