A Review on Saturation Flow, Delay For the Urban Signalised Intersections for Saturated Mixed Traffic Conditions

Abstract

The constant and continuous growth in population has resulted in considerable traffic and travel growth on the roads of metropolitan cities. It results in traffic congestion and delays. Saturation flow is a measure of maximum rate of traffic flow. The intersections poses a great difficulty for the vehicular delay and road safety. The situation is worse because of mixed traffic plying on the roads. Saturation flow implies passenger car unit value (PCU). The characteristics of such heterogeneous traffic are quiet different compared with the homogenous traffic observed and speed ranges of different models in mixed traffic. The objective of this is study of traffic flow behavior at signalized intersection with different traffic situations. Various traffic surveys like classified volume count survey; turning movement count survey was study.
