Abstract

Waste generated by thermal power plants (i.e. fly ash) is one of the major environmental problems. This aim of the research is to investigate the use of fly ash in cement concrete as a partial replacement for cement, as well as an additive for its disposal and environmentally sound reuse. The concrete in the concrete mix is replaced in the varying percentage i.e. from 5 to 25% . It has also observed that the replacing the cement in any proportion will effect the compressive strength and delays in the hardening process. This method provides an environmental friendly method for the disposal of fly ash.
