Abstract

The metals titanium alloys are mainly consisted of titanium with minor amounts of other metals. These alloys are extremely robust and have high tensile strength. One of the standard mechanical tests used to gauge the specimen's mechanical qualities is the small punch test. The SPT's key benefit over other mechanical tests is that it uses experiment-ready test equipment that is miniature. The numerical analysis using DOE for the small punch test on Ti-6Al-4V was not reviewed, according to the literature review. To carry out a numerical analysis on DEFORM 2D, the testing parameters, material selection, and FE parameters are all selected. The variation in punch load applied to the punch die and its related effective stress were identified from the results of the numerical analysis. ANOVA  analysis revealed that the punch load of the die was more significantly influenced by the temperature of the workpiece during the punch test. Additionally, both the workpiece temperature and friction factor had a greater impact on the effective stress, whereas the friction factor between the dies and the workpiece had a greater impact on the effective strain.
