Abstract

In the blink of an eye a days, the suspension leaf spring is one of the potential things for weight decreasing in vehicles. On account of the diminishment of the largeness of the vehicles, there is a development in the fuel viability, which results in high capability with insignificant exertion. The weight reduction can be refined by changing mechanical properties. In this manner helper steel is supplanted by composite material. The composite material has more flexible strain essentialness stockpiling farthest point and high caliber to weight extent than steel. In this paper an average leaf spring design from Ashok Leyland business vehicle is decided for study. E-glass/epoxy, carbon epoxy, graphite epoxy composite materials are considered for study. The leaf spring is modelled using CATIA software and analysis is carried out using ANSYS Workbench and compared the stresses between conventional and composite leaf spring. Composite material optimisation is also compared for the leaf spring under same loading conditions.
