This paper investigates the machinability of EN-8 steel in CNC turning .The study shows the influences of three cutting parameters like spindle speed, depth of cut and feed rate affecting surface roughness while turning operation of EN-8 steel. Taguchi L27 orthogonal array was used to design of experiment. Optimal cutting conditions was determined using the signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio which was calculated for Ra according to the „„the-smaller-the-better‟‟ approach. . The results were analyzed using 3D surface graphs, signal-to-noise ratios (S/N) and main effect graphs of means. It is observed that the N3-F1-D2 is the optimizing process parameters.
