Abstract

The engineering structures built about 50 years ago are now in a critical stage, devastated and limited in functionality. Proper maintenance of existing structures is required for satisfactory performance. The purpose of this study is to examine the flexural Strengthening capacities of retrofitted RC beams and to investigate how different layers of Stainless steel wire meshes affect the RC beam Strengthening.

Mechanically connected from the outside Flexural strength of Reinforced Concrete (RC) a beam member has long been improved with the use of fiber-reinforced polymer. To learn how RC beams that were reinforced with various SSWM wrapping configurations performed under a two-point flexural stress; an experimental study was carried out.

In this thesis Multiple plain beams, Reinforced Concrete beams Fiber Reinforced Concrete Beams of Size (100x100x500 mm) of two different grade of concrete is taken into account i.e. (M30 and M50) were cast and followed by Flexural testing to determine the effectiveness of various wrappings such as complete wrapping of mesh (360), U-Wrap. Different failure modes and gains in ultimate strength were observed, depending on the strengthening configuration.
