Material that makes a building sustainable can save the planet as well as can save client’s money, help to preserve our heritage and which reduce the impact on the environment. Sustainable material is one that does not deplete natural resources and will not have adverse impact on the environment. The environmental impact of a material can be reduced in a lot of ways like by reducing the embodied energy, reducing the transportation distance of material and saving fuel cost, also we can plan in such a way that waste production is reduced so as to stop materials from going to landfill etc. Global warming is increasing day by day, 30% of reason for global warming is building material. So, sufficient change is required in building material. Mud as a major role in reducing global warming. It our duty to bring back mud architecture which was already followed in centuries. This dissertation is particularly dealing with mud as a building material and survey of all its applications. And it explains about different types of mud construction techniques.
