Abstract

The basic commission by the client was to provide a building that will accommodate its staff at branch level due to increasing demand of services nationwide. The building proposed as State branch, is a prototype design with major space revisions to accommodate new requirements in modern technology, covering security, access control, surveillance provisions and fire protection. The main building has four floors seated on pad foundation. Flexible partition spaces in the design allows for open plan office system. The raised floor and suspended ceiling systems installed allows for easy distribution of electrical and mechanical services to various service outlets. Fire protection systems installed include Hydrants, Dry and Wet risers, Hand Extinguishers, FM 200 Gas, Smoke Detectors and Sprinkler Systems. Other provisions include acoustic control, basement water proofing and four giant power generators. The completion period of 3 years was not feasible due to initial delays caused by unforeseen events.
