Abstract

The research work deals with the hydrologic modelling of a gauged watershed of Goi catchment of middle Narmada basin in order to simulate monthly runoff volume. The model was run with ArcSWAT which is an interface with ArcGIS software. This model is a versatile model which uses topography, land use - land cover, soil types etc. and provides the runoff information with an input of rainfall data. The required data for my study was carried out from two weather stations, which is evenly distributed over the catchment. The developed model was calibrated from the year 1994 to 2008 and validated for the period of 2009 to 2013. The coefficient of determination (r2) and Nash- Sutcliffe efficiency (NSE) for the monthly runoff was obtained as 0.98 and 0.76 respectively for the calibration period and 0.99 and 0.73 respectively for the validation period.
