Impact of Covid-19 Pandemic on Ambient Air quality - A Case Study of Indore City

Import and export of food goods, medications and medical instruments, IT services, autos, heavy equipment, and other items connect the whole world economically. It goes without saying that with Globalization, the spring back effect of exporting diseases and viruses that grow in the tiniest section of one nation to all other areas of the globe returns. The Novel Corona Virus (Covid-19) is one of the viruses that was recently discovered in Wuhan, China, and has since spread to over 200 countries. It is impacting the whole world, causing most nations to go into lockdown and restrict business activity such as IT, manufacturing, transportation, logistics, and free movement of people between states and within states. However, Covid-19 has a number of favourable effects for the environment. The good and negative effects of the lockdown are discussed in this publication. We also discuss the degree of air pollution before and after Covid-19, comparing the average value from both sessions to see how Corona virus contributed to improve air quality.
