Water is a vital natural resource for maintaining life and the environment, but due to overexploitation, its quality has deteriorated in recent decades. When the entire focus is on sustainable development with mankind at the center, water quality is an important aspect to investigate. Groundwater is the primary supply of drinking water in both rural and urban areas, with groundwater meeting over 94 percent of total demand. The study was carried out to analyze the quality of ground water and its appropriateness for drinking in the majority of Sevalpatti's rural habitations. For this study, 10 water samples were collected from hand pumps, open wells, and bore wells in villages throughout the study area and tested for some of the chemical parameters like pH, Total Alkalinity, Total Hardness, Calcium Hardness, Magnesium Hardness, Electrical Conductivity and Total Dissolved Solids.
