Introduction: The kidneys are one of the vital organs of our body. Man can live with one kidney, but life becomes disastrous when both kidneys stop functioning. Disorders related to the kidneys are the leading cause of death. Haemodialysis is the most common method used to treat advanced and permanent kidney failure. Haemodialysis is a method for removing waste products such as potassium and urea as well as free water from the blood. Home care management is the critical component of the treatment of CRF patients undergoing haemodialysis, which helps to improve health of patients who are undergoing haemodialysis. Aim of the Study: Aim of the study is to assess the effectiveness of information booklet regarding home care management among patients undergoing hemodialysis in selected hospitals of Punjab. Materials and Methods: Study was conducted in GGSMC&H, Faridkot. Preexperimental one group pre-test post-test design quantitative research approach was used. Non-probability purposive sampling technique was used to select 50 study subjects. Structured Knowledge Questionnaire was prepared to assess knowledge of patients undergoing hemodialysis regarding home care management. Analysis was done by descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: The study Findings revealed that, in the pretest knowledge mean±S.D is 14.12±3.44 and during post-test mean±S.D is 19.26±2.69, t=8.31, Df 49 value which is significant. As the calculated value is more than the table value at 0.05 level of significance. So, research hypothesis was accepted. While finding the association of pre-test knowledge with selected demographic variables only education of the patient was significant. There was no association of post-test with selected demographic variables Conclusion: Information Booklet was effective in the improvement of knowledge regarding home care management among patients undergoing haemodialysis.
