Mobile App Teaching on Ketamine Infusion Therapy Among Nursing Students

Abstract

Introduction: Emotional, psychological, and social well-being is an important aspect of our mental health. The way people think, feel, and act influences our mental health. Our overall health has two parts, physical and mental. Mental health keeps on changing among individuals. As the need of an individual change so does mental health is impacted. In India, the covid-19 has increased mental illness. In the year 2017, mental illness among Indians was already severe among seven at least 1 of the individuals experienced mental illness. Certain apps can be installed on smartphones and phones can use their sensor to assemble data. Subjects And Methods for this study the students of B.Sc. nursing were selected from various nursing colleges in Delhi by using the purposive sampling technique. A self-structured questionnaire was used to collect demographic data of the students for obtaining personal information. A structured questionnaire was used for assessing the knowledge of the students and a structured expressed practice checklist was used to assess expressed practice regarding ketamine infusion therapy. Statistical evaluation was done using SPSS version 23. Result: the significant findings of the study were that 100(83.34%) nursing students had poor knowledge, whereas (20) 16.66% had moderate knowledge and in the pre-test, most of the nursing students 101(84.16%) had poor expressed practice, whereas (19) 15.84% had moderate expressed practice. Findings showed that there was a notable relation between the level of mean post-test knowledge score and demographic variable i.e., age, type of family, area of living, and visit to the psychiatric hospital and There is a significant relation between the level of expressed practice and demographic variable i.e., area of living, visit to the psychiatric hospital and seen any ketamine infusion therapy. Conclusion: Thus the ketafusion mobile app teaching ketamine infusion therapy was found to be an effective plan of action for enhancing the knowledge and expressed practice among nursing students.
