Abstract

The innovation in the construction industry is evidenced by the diverse range of new Material Handling Equipment (MHE) in the market. At large construction sites, there are developed pieces of equipment for material handling. On the other hand, in small construction sites, manual work is carried out for handling construction materials such as sand and soil. To overcome these problems, a design reliability and development approach of material handling equipment is carried out. It is electrically operated which will displace or collect the material from a pile of sand, concrete, soil, etc. delivers at the required height. The objective of this equipment is to reduce human effort with cost-effectiveness. The modeling of this equipment was done in the Solid Edge ST10 version and simulation in ANSYS 16. Simulation result, Factor of Safety for separate parts – Frame, Shaft, Bucket, and Sprocket was 1.58, 5.84, 2.56, and 4.76 respectively.
