Abstract

In the present work, an experimental study has been conducted to study the effect of Wire EDM process parameters on the multiple responses. The experiments were conducted on AISI1040 steel, which is more suitable for many engineering applications such as shafts, gears, spindles, axles, bolts and studs, automobile parts. Taguchi’s standard L18 orthogonal design has been followed and responses were analyzed using a hybrid objective method called the AHP-UTILITY concept. The optimization results concluded that the wire tension has the highest significance on the multi-objective response.
