Nonwoven is a type of fabric sheet or web structure bonded in the form of entangling fibres or filaments by the technique of mechanical, thermal or chemical process. The technology of application with raw materials for web formation, web bonding and finishing treatments directs the products to be used in different areas. Nowadays, nonwoven fabrics are widely used in industrial sectors by the name of technical textiles. The most important area of its application is the healthcare items. Many nonwoven fabrics can be perfumed or anti-bacterial with the application of micro-encapsulation technology. Nonwoven fabrics are sometimes made much thicker than aesthetic tissue papers. Depending on the end uses such nonwovens are manufactured and normally these fabrics are found with flat forms. Next generation of nonwoven fabrics are emerging in the market which are technical textiles to be used for critical applications.
