Abstract

The green building conveys numerous benefits to the environment, social and economic aspects. The most significant advantage of green buildings is energy saving. Vegetation is a well-known natural medium that conducts the process of photosynthesis, where it releases molecular oxygen from the atmosphere and eliminates carbon dioxide. Many studies have proved that these green components are efficient in reducing the energy consumption of a building. This study aims to examine the energy savings conveyed (Electrical Energy) by vertical green walls on residential buildings. This study has statistically proven that the implementation of a vertical garden helps in annual electricity savings of up to 87.48 kWh.
