Government of India (GOI) has prioritized the transportation sector in various Five Year Plans (FYPs). As we know that Government of India (GOI) has taken Initiatives at various levels to develop high speed transport infrastructure. Through various Literatures and research works it is concluded that Transport plays a vital role in Enhancing Levels of Development in areas around it. If a transport corridor is present in vicinity, it positively influences its hinterland and the area adjoining is expected to have higher development scores. In this Research Paper we attempt to understand the relationship between Transportation infrastructure and regional development.
