The First Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) in Bangladesh, Its Impacts and Overcomes

Abstract

The Dhaka Metro Rail project is an extensive project in Dhaka, Bangladesh which is under construction to provide a better solution for the minimization of traffic jams and congestion occurring daily in Dhaka city. It is said that this project is a part of 20 years long of project which is carried out by the Government Transportation Coordination Authority. This study will provide some basic information about the project along with its current status and give a clear view of the complications faced in completing it. Moreover, this paper also presents both effective and obstructive impacts of the project on various aspects of Bangladesh and a variety of action plans to reduce the effects.
