Abstract

In recent years, Concrete filled steel tubes (CFST) are widely using in these days in civil Engineering constructions. These are used in bridges as piers and as columns in high rise buildings. Usage of CFST is advantageous when compared to reinforced cement concrete columns. In this study an attempt to understand the behavior of CFST and RCC columns under axial load. By the non -linear analysis of concrete filled steel tubes (CFST) is done using ANSYS WORKBENCH 19.2 Software. The modeling of circular and square columns with dimension of 500 mm, height of column is 3000mm for RCC and CFST columns are done in ANSYS software. The different sections of columns are analyzed through software for the parameters such as Deformation, Strain, Stress, and Critical load. After the complete Analysis of RCC and CFST columns. From Total Deformation results, it demonstrates that the deformation in RCC Circular columns i.e. 0. 44 times more than that of CFST Circular columns, RCC Square columns i.e. 0.34 times more than that of CFST Square columns. Then comparison of deformation here shows that the Circular CFST columns are performed better in terms of deformation by 0.1 times than Square CFST columns.
