A Study on Review of Literature of Comparison of Lateral Displacement in a Building with and Without Bracings

Abstract

The unexpected announcement of energy due to motion of the underground plates or rocks over one another cause a break along a point, cause in Earthquake. Different areas have different effect of earthquake thus Bureau of Indian Standards has group four Seismic Zones in India, i.e., Zone II, III, IV, V. Therefore there is a need of a building to withstand the displacement due to seismic load. This paper includes the study on the literature of comparison of lateral displacement in a building with bracing and without bracing. It has been concluded from literatures that installing the bracing in the structure can reduce the lateral displacement of a building.
