Abstract

Objectives: (a) To assess the level of oral mucosal ulcer among patient with head and neck cancer undergoing radiation therapy. (b) To reassess the level of oral mucosal ulcer among patient with head and neck cancer undergoing radiation therapy. (c) To assess the effectiveness of topical application of honey on oral mucosal ulcer among patient with head and neck cancer undergoing radiation therapy in experimental group. (d) To find out the association between with selected demographic and clinical variables with the level of oral mucosal ulcer among patient with head and neck cancer undergoing radiation therapy. Methodology: Quasi experimental pre test post test design approach was adopted for assessing the effectiveness of topical application of honey on oral mucosal ulcer among patient with head and neck cancer undergoing radiation therapy. The sample size was 60. Results: Paired t test was used. which are significant ( p<0.005). It reveals that there is effectiveness present in the experimental group. Conclusion: Topical application of honey it manages and inhibit the oral mucositis among patient with head and neck cancer undergoing radiation therapy.
